Clooney to open a casino in Las Vegas
Hollywood star George Clooney is planning to open a casino in Las Vegas and a distinctive thing about it will be its 50’s style ambience.
The actor revealed its details, like the casino will be created in 50’s style fashion and travelers will get a taste of the past, very similar to the one that his late aunt Rosemary Clooney sang for in her youth. The new casino complex, Las Ramblas, is set to open at Christmas 2007.
“We have this romantic vision of putting on a suit, getting dressed up and going down to the casino and having a big band playing, having dinner and pushing the tables back and people dancing,” Clooney was quoted as saying.
“It’s the way I grew up watching (aunt) Rosemary sing at those places. I found some people who are crazy enough to let us get away with it,” he added.
The star admits he’s a huge fan of big band era venues that catered for crooners and the swinging stars of yesteryear - and he wants to recreate that in Sin City.
