V For Vendetta action-packed trailer

There is a lot of trailer talk going around for V For Vendetta the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Alan Moore/David Lloyd graphic novel.

The action-packed trailer begins with young British woman Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman) kidnapping and interrogation.

She is being advised by a mysterious interrogator that she has been charged with conspiracy to commit treason, terrorism and sedition. She is offered one way out: reveal the identity of the masked revolutionary known only as V. She refuses.

The trailer progresses to chilling scenes of a totalitarian-state England of the near future that hints at conspiracy and chaos. There is a lone person seeking to take back control, codename V. This is a slightly futuristic Britain where V wages his vengeful crusade against a totalitarian regime.

Hugo Weaving, who was hired to replace James Purefoy, can be heard in several scenes. V himself, though, always remains the quintessential man behind the mask.

James McTeigue makes his directing debut on the Warner Brothers project, which was scripted by the Wachowski brothers and produced by Joel Silver.

Producers of the film have refused to edit out scenes of bombings on the London Underground train network, despite the recent terrorist attacks in the British capital.

The futuristic London is the target of a terrorist attacks and sees the tube lines destroyed by bombings.

Executive producer Joel Silver says, “It’s a great time for this movie. It’s a controversial film and it’s a controversial time. It’s going to make people think.”

Fellow producer David Lloyd adds, “In terms of what happened in London it’s important to try and understand what leads people to terrorism. There should be lots of movies made about terrorists.”

Director James McTiegue explains, “Terrorism is one of those themes that never really goes away.”

The film is for ready November 3 release.

Actress Natalie Portman, who chopped off her hair for the role of a freedom fighter in the movie, said that she is thinking of keeping the look. Portman, who was initially worried about the shaved head giving wrong message, said that she loves the look now, because it makes her feel empowered.

“Being a really small girl, I’ve never felt threatening but now, for the first time, I feel tough people react to me differently and I love that,”

Plot Summary:
Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, “V For Vendetta” tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante (Hugo Weaving) known only as “V.” Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he detonates two London landmarks and takes over the government-controlled airwaves, urging his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V’s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself — and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plot to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption.
