Da Vinci Code filming in Lincoln Church

Da Vinci Code filming in Lincoln Church

The Da Vinci Code movie’s producers have shelled out a hefty wad of cash (said to be worth £100,000) in a deal that gives them the right to shoot scenes for film in the Lincoln Church, in Lincolnshire, England this summer.

They’ll be using it as a double for London’s Westminster Abbey.

Cathedral Chief Roy also confirms he’s sold off another notable and as of yet unnamed religious site for them to use in conjunction with the Lincoln Church.

The Louvre museum in Paris has also been given permission for filming to take place there when shooting begins on June 30.

This adds quite nicely to the growing list of important Euro landmarks being used as shooting locations for the film.

Production crews will be in Lincoln for two weeks in the summer. Filming will center around the Chapter House, Cloisters and Nave.

The thriller stars Tom Hanks, Jean Reno, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen and Alfred Molina.
