Paris Hilton was recently seen taking off her engagement ring and passing it around to her friends to let them admire it and try it on for size. A friend cautioned her against such treatment of the pricey bauble, reportedly a 24carat yellow diamond, one carat for each of her 24 years. “Paris was told, ‘That’s a very expensive ring to be passing around like that. Besides, taking off your engagement ring is bad luck,’” according to a source, who says that Paris replied simply, “I don’t have bad luck. So nothing can ever happen to me.” Err…what about that little matter involving a tape and an exboyfriend? Such concerns are now far from the heiress’s mind as she prepares to tie the knot with her fiance, Paris. “Even her family is very amused by the fact that they both have the same name. Paris, of course could not care less. She is determined to prove to be an excellent wife once she walks down the aisle,” says a friend. On the professional front, Paris is getting ready to star in yet another reality show, this time involving her own family. It is a peek at how one of the richest families in America spend their days.
