Nicole Kidman holds forth on her new film
After a long time, Nicole Kidman will be seen on the big screen in a light hearted romantic come the day, and that also in the role of a witch whom everyone loves. Bewitched sees her playing Isabel, which reprises the role of Samantha, the lovable witch from the TV series, who does magic with a twitch of her nose!

But if she is asked how does it feel taking over from Eliz¬abeth Mo¬ntgomery who made the character such a hit, Kidman points out that she is not playing the same character. “I play Isabel who’s actually very much like Samantha,” she says of the somewhat complicated big screen adaptation. “It’s quite clever, the way they’ve managed to do it,” she adds.

Kidman’s Isabel, in the film, wants to be liked for herself and not what she can do. She meets a down on his luck actor (Will Ferrell) who wants her to play a reallife witch, in a TV remake of Bewitched after he sees her twitch her nose. But neither Ferrell nor the rest of the cast and crew know that Isabel is actually a witch and trouble follows.

“The character that I play is desperately just trying to be normal. She doesn’t want to be different from Mfe manybody else and certainly doesn’t want to control every thing.” In her real life also Kidman is creating magic, be it for her movies or her quiet tryst with dignity that has continued since her divorce from Tom Cruise. She does not say any¬thing about the ac¬tor’s whirlwind ro¬mance with Katie Holmes and does not feel comfort¬able discussing ei¬ther marriage or children. “I don’t want to say any¬thing because any statement leads to headline and then
of your child’ and I say, ‘”you what?’ I don’t even know you.” Kidman adds that she loves the simple pleasures of life such as “waking up in the morning to play tennis with my son.” Her daughter, she reveals, is turning 13 soon and ‘ ‘being a teenager is so tough these days. I want to be with her as much as possible and guide her through this phase.”

Kidman has been linked with rocker Lenny Kravitz and producer Steve Bing, but she refuses to say anything. “These days I am having an affair with mywork.Loveisnotapriority Whenit happens, work will take a second place. Acting earlier meant the chance to get out of school, earn and eat all the chocolate cake I want.
