Hollywood actress Renée Zellweger has split from her husband Kenny Chesney after only four-months of their marriage.

The Oscar-winning actress reportedly filed for an annulment from her country singer husband on Wednesday (14Sep05) in Los Angeles, citing “fraud” as the reason.

Her spokeswoman Nanci Ryder confirmed, “The reports are true,” “They are having their marriage annulled. There is no further comment.” A publicist for singer Chesney added “It was a mutual decision.”

The pair surprised the showbiz world when they wed at Chesney’s home in the Virgin Islands in May in a whirlwind 15-minute ceremony which happened about five months after the couple met at a tsunami relief benefit in January(05).

However, it wasn’t long before rumours surfaced claiming their marriage was in trouble. Last month, it was alleged the newlyweds were having crisis talks after spending just 15 days together since their wedding.

Renée tried to insist everything was fine at the recent London premiere of her new movie, ‘Cinderella Man’. She said: “I’m happily married but I don’t want to talk about it because I want to keep my precious things precious.”

The marriage was the first for both.
