Bond bosses contact Matthew Macfadyen
Pride and Prejudice star Matthew Macfadyen has revealed that James Bond bosses approached him about playing the suave spy in the next Bond movie.
The actor who plays Mr Darcy in the big-screen version of the classic novel, admits he is thrilled about being considered for the part but isn’t sure if he wants the famous part.
When asked if producers of the movie franchise had contacted him, he admitted, “Yes, they might have. I don’t know about Bond. It’s a weird one, isn’t it? It’s a bit camp. It would change your life.”
Meanwhile, Macfadyen says he loved working with his ‘Pride and Prejudice’ co-star Keira Knightley.
He said “She was a delight. She came straight on to the set from one film, and was going straight off to the next. And she was fantastic, so self-possessed and connected.”
