More Sequels with Hollow Man, Road House and I Know What You Did….

There are a lot of remakes and sequel’s going in the industry at this moment.

There’s the news that Sony itself is planning Hollow Man 2, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer and Road House 2.

Hollow Man, for the many people who won’t remember it, was the Invisible Man thriller, with Kevin Bacon playing a scientist who turns all evil when he turns invisible.

Hollow Man 2” revolves around a Seattle detective and a biologist who are on the run from a dangerous invisible assassin gone rogue as well as the government forces that created him.
There’s no word on whether the original cast will return. A mid-August start date is scheduled. It will be directed by Swiss director Claudio Feah (who made his feature debut with a film called Coronado in 2003) and its screenwriter will be Joel Soisson, who wrote such films as Mimic 2 and Highlander: Endgame.

A second sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer won’t have anything to do with the prior two films, which focused on a haunting accident in the past of Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite being the third movie in a franchise, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer will start the story over again, with four new teens from a small Colorado town.

This time, it’s a Fourth of July prank that goes horribly wrong, killing one of their friends and putting a strain on the rest of the group when they agree to keep it secret. They will be victimized by a phantom menace a year after the prank kills one of their friends. The group suspects the cousin of the dead friend, only to discover they are very much on the wrong track. It’s a similar plot, but nothing to do with the original movie.

The film will be directed by Damon Santostefano (Three to Tango) based on a script by Michael Weiss and is expected to have a Fall ‘06 release. Weiss is also hard at work writing The Butterfly Effect sequel.

Road House 2” the sequel to the 1989 Patrick Swayze classic, will take up where the first film left off. It centers on a graduate student who must run his uncle’s bar and fight to maintain control as a local crime boss tries to take it over. Johnathon Schaech has an offer to star, and Scott Ziehl (”Cruel Intentions 3″) is in negotiations to direct. An August shoot is being eyed.

Now with the entire Sequel’s talk, one cannot imagine where the original ideas are going.
