“War of the Worlds” director Steven Spielberg is taking another sci-fi project about a clash with another planet

He is to produce the sci-fi remake “When Worlds Collide” and may also direct it.

The 1951 original focused on a group of scientists who discover another planet on a collision course with earth and make plans for a small group of humans to leave the planet before the inevitable deadly collision.

Spielberg is currently finishing “Munich” which is about the aftermath of the 1972 Olympic massacre.
